I have been a butcher... I have been a savior...
I have been that perfect flaw... That predictable enigma...
I have usurped the duties... that are the purview of God
And in the middle of a deluge of perdition... I dare to cry Lord, Lord...
Judgment will and has come as sure as there are deaths and taxes...
Lord have mercy on us... as you dole out the minus ones of the many forty lashes....
I once punished my daughter and she cried and ran...
And moments late she came back in my arms, as if nothing happened
Then the Holy Spirit said so it is when I chastise you - It does not mean that you are forsaken...
And I wept like men weep... sub-rosa and sometimes in secret...
My spirit in Christ Jesus has learned but I cannot say the same for this mortal coil, yet....
These are the days when I drink from the font of self pity...
Yes, I know better in Christ Jesus' Spirit, but still that other, contrary foul spirit beckons me...
My prayers are like broken Hallelujahs... I am almost unable to pray, almost catatonic...
My spirit is willing - but I lean on that familiar lying, sinful tonic...
I have a tongue - but I do not know how to Spiritually taste....
The Holy Spirit is flowing and I am prodigal... I let It go to waste....
In the nick of Time the Lord reminds me He's an everlasting font of Living Water...
Lest you forget the Samaritan woman at Jacob's well - the serial Fornicator....
These are the days when Satan pulls out all of the seemingly, convenient stops....
The temporary elixirs/nectars... that blind us from seeing his punishing riding crop...
The secular wisdom comes with suicide whispering in both ears....
Masking the fact that suicide will consign us to a literal burning Hell for forever years...
What is a man or woman of God to do....
But to remember the Word of Christ Jesus - these temptations/trials are not unique... this is nothing New!
Am I... are we any different than the flawed saints of old - the Abrahams, The King Davids, the King Solomons - before us/me
Whose refuge was the Livitical Law - but I have a Standard far greater... the Blood of Christ Jesus and His Grace that surround us/me....
The days are nigh when you remember that weeping endures for a night...
But the Joys of the Lord cometh in the morn...
The land is scorched and like desert blight....
Look and see a land like Goshen... Jesus' oasis... the greenness of the Land better than Eden's Lawn....
So now after the Holy Ghost's Fire... that Fire still burns....
A Place and a State where Our hearts grow fonder... and in our 'Holy wants,' we still yearn....
